Since we now have slightly over 20 years of back issues, we have decided to occasionally republish a past issue. I will let the previous “Notes from Nancy” introduce you to the theme from May, 2004.
Paul writes in I Corinthians 13:8-13:
"Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love."
This month's issue looks at hope.
Naomi, despite the trials she went through, must have had hope that somehow she would survive in her condition of widowhood. She went back to Israel in time for the barley harvest. God had cared enough to put a "welfare" system in place. The poor could glean the fields for enough food to eat. She hoped to survive there.
What trials are you going through? What is your hope?
Please join us as we take a look at hope.

"For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently."
