Do you delight in showing mercy? How about when someone pulls out in front of you causing you to slam on the brakes; or a child, yet again, fails to do his or her chores? I imagine we could all think of aggravating things people do which start to make our tempers rise. And these are just examples of little things. It makes my heart smile to read:
Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.
Micah 7:18
How often do we do things which are not following God's way? Yet He is ever merciful. Yes, sometimes what we do has built in consequences, but I often wonder how much God's mercy lessens those consequences. The LORD Was Gracious to Abraham and Sarah and I know He has been gracious to me throughout my life. What a wonderful thought to meditate on knowing with our loving Father that Mercy Triumphs over Judgment.
