When I read the Old Testament (and from what history I know), I think “What is man, that thou art mindful of him?” (Psalm 8:4 KJV). Mankind has been a mess from the beginning, and we still are. So was the woman at the well who was surprised when Jesus asked her for a drink of water. She would have willingly given him a drink, but he offered something better, Living Water. Our LORD is mindful of each one of us. If we are mindful of him, he will give us the Water of Life.
Come let us learn of this water which will quench our spiritual thirst.
There is nothing like 90 to 100 degree temperatures to create a desire to drink a nice tall glass of ice cold water to quench thirst. Yet, sometimes we ignore our thirst or choose to drink something less effective and healthful to quench that thirst. ...more
