Waiting for the Wedding

By Nancy Vandemark

Sometimes my heart aches for all the problems going on in the world. I only have to look back at history to see this is nothing new.

“The LORD is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The LORD is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made” (Psalm 145:8-9). The LORD still shines the sun on our blue planet. Behind the dark clouds is a sky of blue. Jesus has paid the price for us. This was planned from the beginning which we can see throughout the scriptures.

Sometimes it seems Jesus is delaying his coming. Then I think what yet unborn child may he be waiting for? So I must wait in patient anticipation as Rebekah may have done on her long trek to meet her future husband. So until that time I will remember:

The LORD watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.

My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD.
Let every creature praise his holy name
    for ever and ever.

Psalm 145:20-21
