Resurrection

by Scarlett Stough

As we approach the season in which we remember the death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, the following Scriptures of this Bible study guide is offered as meditation guides for your reflection.

1. Luke 23:44-24:53. Why do you think Jesus' closest followers were reluctant to believe Jesus was resurrected from the dead? What are your reasons for believing?

2. John Chapters 13-17. As you read Jesus' words and the reactions of his disciples, try to put yourself in this room, hearing these words for the very first time. What understanding comes to you as you think about this passage of Scripture? Ask God to give you an increasing depth of understanding of God's love for you. Ask him for a more complete understanding of his will specifically for you and how you live your life.

3. 1 Corinthians 15:1-58. As you read this passage, note the questions Paul asks and answers. Do you have any questions he doesn't answer? What exhortation does Paul give us all? How can we continue to hope in the face of attacks on the word of God and the reality of God?

4. 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. What are the ways Paul told the Corinthian church they were not “recognizing the body of the Lord”? Are there any ways you can see in which you might not be “recognizing the body of the Lord”?
