Praise the Lord! Rejoice in the Lord! Blessed (happy) are those who mourn. Contradictory? Not at all. Those who mourn before the Lord in prayer will be comforted. Those who look to God for their joy and satisfaction in life will find it. Those who praise God in prayer, song, music and even dance and shouting for joy will discover God will join us in our celebration.
Psalm 150
Praise the LORD
Praise God in his sanctuary;
Praise him in his mighty heavens.
Praise him for his acts of power;
Praise him for his surpassing greatness.
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet,
Praise him with the harp and lyre,
Praise him with tambourine and dancing,
Praise him with the strings, and flute,
Praise him with the clash of cymbals,
Praise him with resounding cymbals.
We are able to rejoice in the middle of our troubles because God rules with compassion, grace, and wisdom, never leaving us to deal with life alone.
