Isn't it wonderful how God speaks to us
individually. While we may be going through similar trials, God knows the
words that will encourage us personally. Following is an e-mail I received
from a reader, edited for privacy, from someone who is also going through
a trial at work.
Dear Nancy,
I pray for you. I also see how God has
blessed you with such a wonderful ministry. About the job, here lately
I also have wondered and am in conflict with things at work. These
two scriptures comes to mind, "For what is a man profited, if he shall
gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in
exchange for his soul?" Matthew 16:26 also, "I have been young, and now
am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging
bread." Psalms 37:25.
... at work ... some times our own motives
and beliefs have come into questions. Comment ... last week from
my boss, "If you don't do it (blank's) way then you need to change the
way you think and do it (blank's) way". Well some of these ways are
cheating, embellishing the truth, doing things completely wrong just to
keep your job. Then I remember the two scriptures above. I am in
this thing for Jesus, no other. If I lose my job, well just remember
this scripture and promise,
"Blessed are they which are persecuted for
righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." Matthew
5:10. Jesus tells us to rejoice and be happy that we get persecuted
for his name. He will help us no matter what. I and my family will always
have our basic needs taken care of, the promise in Psalms proves it.
One of our readers is in search of
poem by Amy Carmichael. Can you help?
Praise the Lord,
Just found your websight and I am looking for
information on Amy Carmichael's book of her life story. Specifically
a poem written by her that I read in the foreword of another book several
years ago. One of the lines says "There was no sound of the Hammer"
from the scripture Ex. 20:25. She tells the story of a young missionary
family that was martyred, but the baby was spared because an elderly chinese
man took it's place. I am looking for the book or the poem.
I have moved 3 times and can't find my books. If you have a lead
to what I am looking for I would appreciate your response. Is your
"Women in Christ " a women's group that has meetings or just on the
internet, and do you have written material or a magazine?
Waiting to hear from you
Bobbie
To the best of Scarlett's knowledge, that
poem was not in the book she reviewed on Amy Carmichael. So if any one
knows of the book or poem that Bobbie is looking for, please let us know
and we will forward that information to her.
In answer to the question about meetings
or written material, currently, we are only on the internet.
We do encourage you to share the information
on the site with those that may not have access to the internet. You may
copy the material freely, unless otherwise stated. We only asked that it
not be sold, changed and credit is given to the author and the source.
The web site, I feel, is still young. As
time goes on, and if I hear from enough interested people, I would love
to sponsor a conference, God willing.
I appreciate your interest and it is blessing
for me to hear from the readers.
