I listened to a local public radio
talk show about the alleged “Ossuary of Jesus.” The guest, (whom if I recall
was a clergyman), said it should not shake the belief of a Christian if
this was proven to be true. But if Jesus was just a prophet with
wise teachings, where does that leave us?
While following the teachings of Jesus
can lead to a better life as far as not bringing on sufferings caused by
our own actions, bad things still happen to people that they did not cause
themselves.
Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19,
“But if it is preached that
Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there
is no resurrection of the dead? If there is no resurrection of the dead,
then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised,
our preaching is useless and so is your faith. More than that, we are
then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about
God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in
fact the dead are not raised. For if the dead are not raised, then Christ
has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, your
faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Then those also who have
fallen asleep in Christ are lost. If only for this life we have hope
in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men."
The clergyman went on in the interview to
mention that reputable archeologists pointed out numerous flaws in the
work done in uncovering the alleged “Ossuary of Jesus”.
Because of our faith in the life, death
and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we can look to a better future for all
of us. We will be free of the murder, rape and other sufferings caused
by mankind’s sin. Come join as we learn from the example of A Great Woman.
We too, can live our lives knowing that “Everything is All Right.”
