As our children are growing, and
sometimes after they become adults, we see a way we could possibly help
to make a task or a situation a little easier for them by giving further
instructions or helping them in other ways. But there are times we stand
back and wait until they ask for that help. We allow them the independence
to make the choice that it is okay to ask for help.
Sometimes, I think that may be the same
way with God. In Matthew 6:8b, Jesus said, "For your Father knows what
you need before you ask him." Like a parent, he is waiting for his child
to ask him for help.
The
Wife of a Man from the Company of the Prophets, did not hold back and
cried out to Elisha. She knew he was God's prophet by the miracles God
had performed through him.
God is willing to help us just as he did
the widow that came to Elisha. Most often, we do not really know what needs
to be done to resolve our problem. But we need to go to God with
our problems so he can say, "How Can
I Help You?"
Come join us as we examine the example
of "The Wife of a Man from the Company of the Prophets."
