Christians around the world are
surrounded by people of all types of beliefs. We are aware of our differences,
guard ourselves against the falsehoods we see and hope that we can be Ambassadors
of Christ to others.
However we sometimes let down our guard
when we are among other Christians. John warns “The
Chosen Lady and Her Children”, along with us, that there are deceivers
among us. They do not teach or live the truth.
Truth is important to God. In his prayer
to the Father the very night he was to be taken away to be sacrificed for
us, Jesus prayed, “Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.” (John
17:17)
If truth is not administered and lived
in love, it can feel oppressive. But without truth, love is eventually
destroyed.
In this month’s study, “Know
the Truth“, we examine what it means to walk in truth and love.
