Notes from Nancy

What is a spiritual undershepherd and are you one?

In Israel, it was often the children who worked as undershepherds tending the sheep under their father's guidance, such as David or Zipporah and her sisters.

We are to become undershepherds. You do not need to be a pastor to tend God's sheep. In "Shine Little Light Shine," Erin Puckett, an older teen, tells how her example influences her younger brother and others she is around.

I learned a lot from the book, Lessons from a Sheep Dog. A sheep dog is like an undershepherd, helping the shepherd.

We, like the sheep dog, are born to be spiritual guides at sometime in our lives. If we are under the wrong master, our lives can be miserable. We can be blocked from living the lives God intended.

Thankfully, the Good Shepherd has come to rescue us. Though he has set us free, we must choose to follow him. Then we must grow to be the best "sheep dog" we can be.

I strongly encourage you to read, Lessons from a Sheep Dog. For a small book, it is packed with inspiration for Christians of all stages of their walk with Christ.

This month we have added a new section - "In the Days of Your Youth." Included will be essays from More Than That, which is a magazine published in newsletter format by a delightful young lady, Erin Puckett. This section is aimed at teens and young adults.

Please join us as we learn to feed God's sheep.
