Women in Christ (logo) Notes from Nancy

We just finished the Passover season. We put out the leavening in our homes, representing putting sin out of our lives. It is not always as simple as it sounds. Sometimes I find leavening I have overlooked. I may consume a leavened food product outside of my home out of habit. These unexpected occurrences remind me how I may overlook some of my own sin and how easily sin invades my life.

Another symbol of the season is partaking of unleavened bread. Jesus said, "I am the Bread of Life" (John 6:35a). When I consciously partake of unleavened bread throughout the week, it reminds me I am to be daily partaking of the true bread of life through the Word of God. We are to "Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness," just as we hunger for our daily bread.

I sometimes get distracted with the things of this world. I pray God will restore my hunger for the true bread of life.

Come join us in our "Hunger and Thirst for Righteousness."
