Women in Christ (logo) Notes from Nancy

Communication is important in a relationship. Jesus teaches us that we "should always pray and not give up" (Luke18:1). Not giving up may be hard at times, especially when we do not receive the answer we want from prayer. If we stop communicating, the relationship will perish. Prayer, our communication with God, is vital.

Paul reminds us we should Pray Continually. But prayer does not always come easy. Scarlett shares in Hear My Voice how she turns to the Psalms at times when she does not know where to start.

My prayer life, at times, has seemed inadequate. It helps to know I am not the only one, which is why many authors have written about the subject. This month’s book review, Prayer, Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God by Timothy Keller, is one such book. Books can be useful tools in guiding us in our prayer life. I would also like to call to your attention to the past book reviews of: Prayer: Does it Make a Difference by Philip Yancey, The Prayer of Hannah by Kenn Gividen, and The Prayer of Jabez for Women by Darlene Wilkson After reading the reviews, you may want to consider if one of those may be helpful for you to read.

How do you Lift Up Holy Hands in Prayer? This month we will examine what the Scriptures teaches us about prayer.
