Women in Christ (logo) Notes from Nancy

January started a new year. Many people made New Year's resolutions. According to huffingtonpost.com, "Only 8 percent of people actually keep their New Year’s resolutions, according to one commonly cited statistic." Most of the resolutions are soon neglected. Of course there are various reasons they fail, but in my opinion it is just human nature. Change is hard. A new year’s resolution usually focuses on one thing to change. We try to rely on our own power and we fail.

Israel had a covenant with God to obey him. They needed to change the way they were living to keep the covenant. "But God found fault with the people…" They did not keep their "resolution" to follow him. We do not need to rely on our power, "A New Creation has Come" through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We do not have to worry about failing for it is He who will "Make Everything New."

Come join us this month as we not only look forward to the New Year, but to the "new heaven and the new earth" (Rev 21:1).
