John Stott based his book “Life in Christ”
on eight prepositions used in relationship to Christ: “through Christ,”
“on Christ,” “in Christ,” “under Christ,” “with Christ,” “unto Christ,”
“for Christ,” and “like Christ.” He says, “Each preposition indicates a
different kind of relationship, but in each case Christ himself is at the
centre.”
By explaining the meanings of these phrases, he shows the first and central place Jesus the Christ must be in a believer’s life. He states, “Christianity without Christ is a chest without a treasure, a frame without a portrait, a corpse without breath.” The Scriptures, the information, and John
Stott’s perspective contained in this book will enrich your understanding
of who Jesus is and who you are “in Christ.”
