These studies do not tell you what the Bible says. The scriptures given direct you to specific topics. The questions are intended to help you focus on the study. No answers are given. You have to read and search the scriptures for the answers. We encourage you to use Bible helps such as concordances and commentaries. However, scholars and theologians often disagree on interpretation and application. The best study help comes from God. Pray. Allow yourself to be honest with your reactions, but don't jump to conclusions. It takes time to read and meditate on all the Bible says on various topics. Feel free to ask questions in your prayers. You will be amazed to discover that God does answer the sincere seeker. You will also be surprised that the Bible may not say what you might think it does on many subjects. Keep a notebook. A loose leaf one would make it possible to add thoughts and additional information as you learn more about different subjects. Welcome to an exciting search.

Set An Example in Life

By Scarlett Stough

To prepare for this Bible study, please read the women in Christ commentary, Way of Life.

Set an Example in life

1. I Timothy 4:12, 15-16; Hebrews 13:7; I Corinthians 11:1 Why would it be important for elders or leaders among Christians to set an example in their conduct? What happens when an ungodly example is set?

2. Matthew 7:21-23; James 2:18-24; 3:13 Why do you think such an emphasis is placed on what we do and how we do it? Why is intellectual belief not enough to constitute saving faith?

3. Romans 6:4, 11-15; Ephesians 4:22; Galatians 1:13; 5:16-25; I Peter 1:18 Give examples showing the difference between a new life in Christ and the old life without Christ.

4. II Corinthians 5:7; Galatians 5:16; Ephesians 5:1-2, 8-14 Describe in your own words what it means to live by faith, by the Spirit, a life of love as children of light.

5. I Peter 1:14-16; Galatians 5:16, 25 How is it possible to be holy as God commands?

6. Ephesians 4:22-24; II Corinthians 1:12; Romans 12:2; II Corinthians 3:18 What has to happen within us to make that new way of life possible?
