3. Luke 4:1-4; Matthew 13:54-57 What was the source of Jesus’ power and authority? Why do you think people were offended when they saw him exercising that power and authority? Why do you think many people today are offended by Jesus’ power and authority?

4. Luke 4:36, 38-39, 43; 5:17-26; 6:17-19; 8:46 How did Jesus demonstrate his power and authority? What do you think his purpose was?

5. Luke 9:1-2; 10:17-24 Why do you think Jesus gave this power and authority to his disciples?
